Relief for cyclone & floods in West Bengal:

Each year flood, cyclone, drought, epidemic and man-made disaster is becoming common problem in India. Natural calamities are becoming more and more regular phenomenon of the earth today. Heavy extraction of the natural resources is the cause of such disaster.


In Sundarbans Mass Education organized relief camps during the heavy rain and cyclone Aila during the month of May. Tarpaulin, bamboo, tiles and other building materials were distributed. Food material, clothes also were distributed among the victims in Sundarbans. 25000 ponds were dewatered after the cyclone. As most of the ponds were full of sea water which had created epidemic. This project was funded by the government of West Bengal through the Sundarbans Development Board.
